What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker I (SFT) - Facilities position at Summit County Government (CO)?
The Maintenance Worker I are 6-months, 5-months, and 3-months seasonal help for grounds.
The 6-months (May-Oct) position is responsible for field prep and maintenance at the Blue River Ball Fields, duties to include mowing, dragging, and lining of all fields prior to weekday night softball association games and weekend tournaments. In addition, this position picks up trash after tournaments. Provide assistance for the other seasonal workers and for building maintenance needs as required.
The 5-months (May-Sep) position and the two 3-months (Jun-Aug) positions are primarily responsible for grounds maintenance and upkeep at all County facilities. Duties include, but are not limited to, mowing, weed eating, aerating lawns, grounds equipment maintenance and repair, and flowerbed maintenance. These positions provide backup for the Blue River Ball Fields 6-months person and assistance for other building maintenance needs as required.
Must be able to work with chemicals and fertilizers.
Operate and repair various types of landscaping equipment.
Job may require strenuous physical labor.
Must be aware of and follow proper safety procedures.
Must possess valid CO driver’s license at time of hire and throughout employment and have a clean driving record.
Must be dependable and work with minimal supervision.
