What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weed Technician II (Seasonal Part-Time) position at Summit County Government (CO)?
Under the direct supervision of the County Weed Control Manager or Assistant Coordinator, duties include the identification and control of noxious weeds throughout the County, as well as public education. Follows established management methods while observing public personal and environmental safety. Performs other tasks as needed. This is a seasonal part time position that works approximately 6 months from early May to late October
The incumbent in this position must be able to successfully perform the following essential job functions and duties:
- Locates areas infested with noxious weeds.
- Follows protocols developed by Weed Control Manager designed to control weeds, including conducting chemical treatments, mowing, weed eating, hand pulling and other approved techniques.
- Maintains specific records for weed control activities.
- Performs related duties as necessary and required by management.
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Work Experience: Experience in weed control, natural resource management or related field preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications: Must have a current Certified Applicator or Qualified Supervisor license with the Colorado Department of Agriculture and have 107 and 109 endorsements.
STARTING SALARY: $29.68 – $32.65 per hour DOE plus excellent select benefits.
