As an Election Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting the citizens of Summit County by performing entry-level clerical duties related to election administration. In addition to election related tasks, you may also be involved in a variety of clerical duties essential for the efficient operation of the Department of County Clerk as well as assisting in expediting daily processes, operations, and services of the department. Depending on submitted qualifications and experience, the position may be hired at the Elections Clerk I, II, or III level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school; with some course work emphasis in computer and office skills and procedures.Must have a valid Utah driver’s license.Must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years of age or older, and eligible to register to vote.Must pass a criminal background check and be insurable.BENEFITS

Assists the County Clerk in necessary preparations for elections such as entering and updating names of voters into voter registration database. Assists in the selection and training of election judges in responsibilities and duties. Provides polling places with supplies. Receives documents, assists with absentee voter ballots. Informs and interacts with the public on issues and questions related to elections.Assists the County Clerk in preparation and proof reading of voter ballots. May assist in training, delivery and set up of polling place equipment and voting machines. May assist in off-site voter registration events. Performs a variety of clerical functions prior to and during election cycles.Performs general assistance to the public in the office and via telephone to complete applications for voter registration, absentee ballots, candidate filings, election pamphlets, marriage licenses, business licenses, special event licenses, passports, and related public documents. Processes payments, applications and documentation according to established procedures. May assist in record keeping of the county fleet titles and yearly inspections.Attends meetings. Prepares and retains minutes, agendas, presentations, and correspondence for various County entities. Assists in the update and maintenance of ordinance, resolution and proclamation files as well as noticing final public documents. Attendance at meetings will be outside normal office hours and at various locations throughout the County.May coordinate document record preservation complying with state archiving regulations and requirements. Monitors OnBase archiving program to assure compliance with retention schedules in conjunction with the County Information Technology Department. Helps prepare all records maintained by the County Clerk for retention and storage according to state and federal law.From time to time, overtime is required.Performs related duties as required.
