What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Seasonal - Chipper position at Summit County?
Summit County is seeking a Seasonal Chipper who will be responsible for removing hazardous brush and timber around designated communities at risk to wildfire throughout Summit County. This position requires the use of chainsaws, chippers, and other hand tools to dispose of debris. This is a full-time, non-benefited position.
Ideal applicants will be hard working and in excellent physical condition, able to continuously lift 50 pounds, able to function well in a group environment, and must be 18 years of age or older. Training will include chainsaw operation, chipper use, pruning techniques, and hazardous fuel identification. Preference will be given to individuals with chainsaw operation experience. Salary Range: $20.66/hour
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years old with high school diploma or receiving high school diploma this spring.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive a truck and trailer.
- Must be hard working, in excellent physical condition, and able to continuously lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to travel to various job sites.
- Must work well in a group environment.
