JOB DESCRIPTION
Preschool Assistant/Float
PURPOSE: To assist and support to the Lead Teacher in the room.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to communicate with a variety of people and be supportive of different families and cultures
- Ability to problem solve quickly
- Be flexible and able to shift gears and go with the flow as needed
- Ability to lift children and also get up and down from the floor
- Ability to work with the director and staff as a team player
- An abundance of creativity, enthusiasm, patience and love for children
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment
- Some experience and skills in parenting issues
- Has an interest in continuing in the field
- A heart for God and service
SUPERVISION: Reports to the Director of Summit Early Learning Center
WORK WEEK: Approximately 40 hours 9:30-5:30 M-F
POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Full-time or part-time
COMPENSATION: Hourly $15.00-$18.00 depending on experience and education and experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interact with the children and model loving and appropriate behaviors for children and parents
- Supervise the arrival and dismissal of children and communicate with parents
- Oversee and be responsible for the duties of an aide if one is needed
- Attend staff meetings, stay current on CPR and 1st Aide, Mandatory Reporting, Standard
Precautions and have 15 hours of appropriate continuing education each calendar year
- Set up an account on Professional Development Information System (PDIS). We can assist with this step.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
