The Project Manager is responsible for several projects at any one time and ensures projects are of high quality, delivered on schedule, within budget and in accordance with all regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- Required: Bachelors’ Degree in Construction Management or related work experience.
- Preferred: Masters’ Degree or higher education
- Required: Valid Driver License
- Required: Three to Five years’ experience as a Project Manager.
- Preferred: Five to Seven years’ experience with some floor covering project management experience.
- Sitting, standing, driving and lifting
- Walking, climbing and lifting up to 50lbs
- Ability to obtain information
- Strong Math Skills
- Strong Communication Skills and Technical Writing Skills
- Ability to read and navigate plans and drawings
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience using construction management software
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects to ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Initiate scope meetings with necessary parties such as, estimating, sales and the director of operations.
- Review and have a full understanding of assigned projects including:
- Plans, specs, and scope of work
- Labor requirements and labor budgets
- Overall Budget
- All materials & installation methods
- Prime contract
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Manage the relationship with the client and all project stakeholders.
- Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis.
- Material management- track and audit material inventories throughout the project to ensure that material is being used properly.
- Track all cost- labor, materials, soft cost against budget.
- Be the in-office point-of-contact for the installer, estimator and commercial admin. Answer phone and e-mails at all times. After hours/ weekends is required when jobs are installing and/or or your team is working.
- Attend job meetings as necessary...
- Make periodic job visits to audit payroll, inventory, and quality.
- Ensure that all items requiring documentation to client are documented such as important conversations, delayed schedules, conditions, etc. through e-mail, photos, letters, etc.
- Complete any required safety documentation such as AHA’s with assistance from the commercial admin.
- Compile any required documentation from applicants such as e-verify forms, lien wavers, and certified payroll reports. Work with contract admin to ensure any required forms are submitted in a timely manner to the client.
- Communicate any concerns from the customer, labor, purchasing, estimating, and installation to the appropriate party. Follow up on resolution to all concerns.
- Initiate internal RFIs and ensure that field coordination issues are resolved and any changes to plans and specs documented and communicated.

- Not abusing or taking advantage of personal days off.
- Always providing proper notification and advance notice of absence.
- Reporting to work on time each day, after lunch breaks, etc., and not leaving early.
- Assuming responsibility for staying aware of changes in company policies and procedures.
- Performing other duties and tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
