We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our dental practice in Ankeny, Iowa, as a Dental Assistant. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for taking and developing dental X-rays, recording patient information, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices.
While a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a dental assistant program are preferred, they are not required. Responsibilities:
- Provide chairside assistance to dentists during various dental procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring cleanliness and proper setup.
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays as prescribed by dentists.
- Record patient information and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Assist in managing the flow of patients and ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred but NOT REQUIRED!
- Will provide training for X-ray certification in accordance with state regulations.
- Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and terminology.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Basic computer skills for managing patient records and scheduling.
