What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farm Laborer position at Summit Hall Turf Farm?
Farm Laborer
Summit Hall Turf Farm is a family owned operation of ~300 acres providing various types of sod to the local Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C. area since 1948. We are looking for an individual to add to our sod production operation for the long term. Typical duties would include:
- Operate forklift to organize sod in field and load customers out.
- Operate and perform maintenance on Farm Equipment (forklifts, mowers, tractors, etc).
- Learn our Irrigation system and procedures.
- Perform general labor around farm.
Eventually, the candidate could be asked to deliver sod on small 6 pallet truck (no CDL required), and/or get a Class A or B License to run some of our larger trucks on deliveries.
Offering $20.00 per hour
Hours of Operation:
Mon-Fri 7:30AM-4:00PM
Saturdays on season (typically mid-April through October): 7:30AM-12:00PM

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Farming/Equipment Operating: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Drivers License (Required)
- CDL (Preferred)
