What are the responsibilities and job description for the End User Support System Administrator position at Summit Interconnect, Inc.?
Position Summary: Reporting to the Sr. Manager, IT Operations, Desktop Engineer provides management and configuration of endpoint management systems used to manage our 1000 systems across 9 sites in North America. This includes: Creating and maintaining Images; Active Directory Group Policy; Software packaging and central deployment; PowerShell Scripting; and Endpoint management and Security. The position will also directly support the local Chicago (Schaumburg) office.
Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of recent experience managing relevant end point management systems (EPM) consoles or platforms in an enterprise computing environment supporting at least 500 users and machines, on multiple platforms.
- In-Depth knowledge of image creation using Endpoint Central, SCCM, MDT, or other similar imaging tools.
- Central software deployment/distribution including packaging, scripting, testing and upgrades
- Understanding of PowerShell or other scripting
- Group Policy and Intune in a hybrid AD / Entra environment.
- A strong understanding of various infrastructure technologies such as WAN/LAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, VLAN, Windows Desktop and Server operating systems.
- Experience with operating systems, including, Windows XP / 7 /10 /11, Server 2008 / 2012 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022, Linux, Android, iOS and MacOS.
- Ability to understand and add, modify, or troubleshoot all end user devices; this includes smart phones, tablets, PCs, Thin Clients, wireless scanners, and various standard and specialty printers in a print server environment.
- Possess strong customer service skills and support etiquette.
- Experience documenting performance and integration of technical solutions.
- Experience with a ITSM Ticketing
- Ability to write training, reports, memos, and system detail analysis documentation to both end user, technical and executive audiences.
- Must be able to prioritize, support an environment driven by customer service and team work.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; ability to participate in resource planning processes based on defined organizational plans.
- Ability to conduct research into issues and products, as required.
- Thorough understanding of challenges commonly encountered in a regulated environment including ITAR and CMMC compliance, and security management.
- Manufacturing experience, Certification in Systems Administration, M365 Administration experience are all pluses.
Responsibilities:
- Workplace Schedule: 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday; on-site. (occasional weekends may be required).
- Develop and manage Endpoint Central, Intune, and GPO infrastructure, components, and services including Distribution Servers, Client Health, Operating System Deployment Task. Sequences, Software Updates, Software Deployments, Collections, Compliance Baselines, and Software Package & Applications.
- Design, implement, and maintain Desktop Infrastructure systems, including software deployment, imaging, OS patching, application patching, application upgrades, asset management, desktop configuration and management.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for multiple deep-level, end user facing systems and services.
- Provide user support, technical issue resolution, and end user device engineering
- Perform administrator and configuration functions within the Endpoint Management Suite, M365, and other enterprise-wide desktop end-use applications and cloud-based systems.
- Evaluate new and emerging desktop/laptop and other user-facing product technologies to enhance end user experience.
- Perform analysis, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex end user technology issues and situations.
- Work with vendors, software, and service providers to determine resolution and mitigation related to adverse end user conditions.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and policies for IT Support staff and end-users.
- Enter and track support tickets in the ITSM system.
- Monitor ticket queues for incoming tickets, assigning, and prioritizing tickets as required.
- ManageEngine Endpoint Central, Intune, GPO, MDT and printer management. Linux support and patching is a plus.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Experience:
- Demonstrated multiyear experience deploying and managing end-client computing of Microsoft Windows desktop, Android and iOS platforms. Including: Imaging, software deployment, OS. patching, third party patching, configuration, and life cycle management.
- Understanding infrastructure technologies such as WAN/LAN, TCIP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, VLAN, Windows Desktop and Server operating systems.
- Ability to script in PowerShell and/or VBScript.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with customers – in person or over the phone – to elicit all necessary details to capture their IT end-client computing requirements accurately and completely.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate business need into system requirements.
- Flexible and able to work as part of a team or independently.
- Highly organized, attention to detail and able to multi-task.
- US Citizenship.
Education / Certification:
- Bachelor Degree and/or 5 years of relevant IT experience.

Pay Range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 hour based on experience.
