Summary
The System Administrator ensures the stability, security, and performance of Summit Credit Union’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and enterprise applications. This role is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT systems while collaborating with various business units to meet organizational needs. The System Administrator also plays a key role in implementing automation, monitoring solutions, and cybersecurity best practices to support a highly available and scalable technology environment.

Capability Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Two or more years of experience in system administration, infrastructure support, or a related IT field; or a combination of applicable work experience and education.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows, Linux, Active Directory, and Financial Application management.
- Experience managing hardware technologies, including ATMs, Cash Automation, and Video Teller equipment.
- Proficiency in using cloud computing platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and security best practices.
- Experience using and managing monitoring tools such as Splunk, SolarWinds, or similar.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
- Understanding of ITIL methodologies and best practices in IT service management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to resolve complex IT challenges.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
