Overview
Location: Newberry, FL
Compensation: $70,040 to $84,460/annually depending on experience
This position supports a good standing in the community, sustainable operations, and adheres to and upholds all company policies, safety standards and federal / state regulations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- The Shipping Supervisor will be a team leader for one of the Team Based Safety teams in the plant. This will require monthly meetings and guiding/directing the teams to ensure that the annual goals are met and the plant TBS program continues to improve.
- Ensure that safe work rules and practices are understood, implemented and consistently followed by Bulk Loading and Packhouse personnel and any visitors.
- Ensure departmental requirements are fulfilled in the Plant Environmental Management System (EMS) including: daily monitoring of cement load-out and packing operations to ensure dust-free operation and documenting all start-ups, shutdowns and malfunctions for applicable equipment
- Provide leadership to department employees by directing, coaching, supervising and delegating as the situation requires. Ensure compliance with all plant safety procedures. Responsible for ensuring plant inventory figures and shipping statistics are maintained accurately and in a timely manner in the SAP integrated software system.
- Responsible for supervising contractors utilized in Packhouse functions, ship loading and unloading, for maintaining adequate levels of packing supplies such as pallets, paper bags, jumbo bags, hooding plastic.
- Develop recommendations and implement solutions for improvements in safety, quality, productivity and reliability for all equipment by fostering an environment of open dialogue based on continuous improvement.
- Responsible for communicating with outside resources in Sales, Marketing, Maintenance and CVC of any issues impacting customers and working with plant resources to develop and implement required corrective solutions.
- Working with the Production Department, maintain an accurate reflection of cement inventories both in packaged and bulk, ensure that the plant manipulates the production schedule of the finish mills as well as what silos to fill to minimize any potential impact on customers.
- Develop and maintain packing schedule to ensure product inventories level match sales volume.
- Ability to analyze and optimize loading and packing operation to achieve better reliability and performance.
- Required to maintain a good housekeeping plan for Shipping and Packing.
- Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to the plant’s Safety and Environmental programs.
