What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiologic Technologist (1200) position at Summit Medical Center?
Responsible for following established procedures and protocols. Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. The scope of the position includes using proper patient identification and ensuring you have the correct patient for the exam, explaining the procedure to patients, accurately operating all imaging equipment, demonstrating clinical and age specific competencies in performing all diagnostic procedures and selecting accurate technical factors for optimal image quality. Technologist is responsible for practicing radiation safety in the operations of radiation-emitting equipment. Technologist demonstrates the ability to review images for interpretation. General supervision is available for a variety of duties, most of which follow well defined methods and procedures. Employee may operate alone on routine work, checking with supervision for answers when in doubt.
Position includes maintaining competency in performing all diagnostic x-ray procedures in the department and in the operating room as well as assisting in other areas/modalities of the department as requested. If you are certified/trained in multimodality it is expected, you assist in those areas when needed and stay current with knowledge and competencies for on-call duties.
