Number of Beds : 630 has 34 beds / 633 has 25
Patient Ratios : 1 : 4 to 1 : 5 on days, 1 : 5 to 1 : 6 on nights
Unit staffing description : 3 techs when full on 630 and 2 techs when full on 633
Type of equipment : bipaps, high flow o2, vapotherm, alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis, wound vacs in conjunction with wound care
Documentation system : Meditech
Floating policy : may have to float in between PCU units or float to med-surg floors
Patient Experience requirements : hourly rounding on days, every 2 hour rounding on nights, AIDET and keeping up with communication boards on 7th floor.
Job Requirements
Must have : Critical thinking skills, EKG rhythm interpretation, cardiac drip, insulin drip and heparin drip experience
Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred and peripheral iv skills
Advanced skills needed : ACLS
Experience with bipaps, high flow 02 and multiple oxygen delivery systems
Experience with stroke and post cardiac cath care
Experience with tube feedings and NG / dobhoff tubes
Procedures performed on unit : Peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, dobhoff / NG tube insertions, central line dressing changes, trouble shooting wound vacs
Schedule Information
Scheduling requirements : every other weekend requirement for contract
3 12 hour shifts a week
Schedules are 4 weeks
Contract required to work every other weekend
