Goodlettsville Pediatrics, a division of Summit Medical Group, has an immediate need for an experienced front desk check in / out professional, also known as Multi - Duty Receptionist. The receptionist role involves greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, answering phone calls, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and overall maintaining the smooth operation of our practice’s front office, while prioritizing patient comfort and confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations.
This is a Full-time opportunity.
Key responsibilities and required skills may include :
- Excellent Customer Service Skills – Serves as the ambassador to the practice by greeting patients upon arrival and answering all incoming lines.
- Computer literacy to navigate Microsoft Office, EMR, other applications and websites used daily as required by the role.
- Working knowledge of an Electronic Medical Records system, i.e., Athena, Office Practicum, E Clinical, etc.
- Basic knowledge of Billing and Collections in a medical practice, sometimes referred to as Revenue Cycle Management.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to details.
- Ability to review documentation meticulously to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Understanding of HIPAA and OSHA requirements are mandatory.
- Strong sense of responsibility with attendance and punctuality.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Maintains strictest confidentiality, both internally (with other Summit employees) and externally (with the public).
- Adheres to the corporate compliance plan and policies.
- Checking in & Checking out patients to include :
Verifying benefits (knowledge of Insurance Payer plans & coverage)

Education :
High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.
Experience :
Prefer one year experience in a medical office setting.
