General Description:
This position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of parts inventory management, swine warehouse building maintenance, and provide support to the swine operations staff at Summit Agricultural Group.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse
- Maintain and clean all warehouse equipment regularly
- Work closely with maintenance staff and manager to maintain an orderly inventory of parts in all Summit Swine Inventory locations
- Work closely with manager and support staff to ensure parts used are recorded accurately and timely
- Maintain inventory management processes to ensure accurate inventory counts and timely billing of parts used
- Lead and execute accurate parts inventory cycle counts
- Help maintain the warehouse, grounds, and all areas of the swine operations building.
- Interact professionally with staff, suppliers, and vendors
- Order materials for projects when assigned and schedule all material deliveries
- As needed, obtain and/or deliver parts or equipment to maintenance staff
- As needed, assist maintenance staff with minor barn repairs
- As needed, assist maintenance staff with workorders requiring vendor support
- Other duties as assigned by Manager
Work Environment:
- This position is performed indoors with the occasional need for some tasks to be performed in outside weather conditions.
Physicality Requirements:
- This position will require the repetition movements such as bending, lifting, standing on hard services for extend periods of time and different hand movements as needed to complete tasks.
- Ability to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to drive a vehicle for prolonged periods of time when delivering items to work site locations.
- Ability to climb on and off of livestock trailers that can be as short as 40 inches in height.
- This position will operation power tools, farm machinery, hand tools, forklifts and skid loaders.
Position Type:
- This position is full time that will typically work 50 hours per week Monday-Friday with the occasional weekend work with the additional availability during weather and staffing challenges.
Education/Experience:
- A minimum of three years of work experience in swine facilities preferred however must possess a strong understanding of swine facility operations and parts
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory motor vehicle record
- Understanding of how to navigate a computer utilizing Microsoft for inventory tracking processes
- This position must possess strong customer service sills, with the ability to prioritize while maintaining attention to detail and organization
- Ability to be a self-starter; able to work with little to no direction
- Strong, processional verbal communication skills
