Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will work closely with the orthodontist to provide quality care to our patients. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with procedures, taking X-rays, maintaining infection control protocols, and providing exceptional patient care.
Duties:
- Take and develop X-rays as directed by the orthodontist
- Maintain aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Perform orthodontic procedures and provide chairside assisting
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and care instructions
- Take accurate patient records including daily treatment notes and medical history
- Assist with patient assessment and treatment planning
Experience:
- Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant is preferred but not required
- Dental assisting certification
- Familiarity with dental terminology related to orthodontics
- dental X-rays certification and maintaining radiation safety standards
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices
