Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our orthopedic surgery practice in Fort Worth and Southlake on a part-time basis, with the potential to transition to a full-time position based on performance and practice needs. The ideal candidate is a team player with at least 2 years of experience in orthopedics, possesses strong communication skills, and has an excellent bedside manner. In addition to patient care, the Medical Assistant will assist with scribing during patient visits, maintaining a clean and safe office environment, and supporting administrative tasks when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in clinic operations, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and preparing for examinations and procedures.
- Scribe for providers by accurately documenting patient encounters, medical histories, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions, educating patients on treatment plans, and ensuring a smooth clinic experience.
- Support administrative tasks when the clinic is not in session, including scheduling, insurance verification, and medical records management.
- Assist in minor in-office procedures and post-procedure care as needed.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and high-quality patient care.
- Maintain cleanliness in the office, ensuring all areas are sanitary and well-organized.
- Prioritize patient and work environment safety by adhering to infection control protocols and workplace cleanliness standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an orthopedic surgery practice is required.
- Strong medical terminology knowledge specific to orthopedics.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Strong bedside manner with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Experience with scribing and EMR documentation is highly preferred.
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a bonus but not required.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively.
- Willingness to assist with administrative duties when not directly assisting in patient care.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) is preferred but not required.
