SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the preventative maintenance and repairs of all production equipment as needed and performs routine building related maintenance. In addition, as Safety Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the site safety program that includes, but is not limited to, all safety inspections, documentation, procedures and reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
·Performs Maintenance Technician duties including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production equipment.
·Maintains the site FIIX preventative maintenance system to assure all critical equipment is serviced through a documented process.
·Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of all production equipment.
·Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs as needed.
·Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
· Performs routine building related maintenance and upkeep as required, engages with landlord and/or outside contractors for related projects.
· Facilitates and directs the site Safety Committee and provides leadership for safety projects.
·Facilitates the Incident Investigation process in coordination with site management.
·Tracks and verifies safety related corrective action items are completed in a timely manner.
·Coordinates and participates in associate safety training as needed.
Completes and maintains all safety related documentation as needed for audit purposes.
Tracks and reports weekly/monthly safety KPI metrics at the site and corporate levels.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Degree or certification in mechanical related field, or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a maintenance role.
· Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
· Experienced in working with conveyors and inkjet printers preferred.
· Adhere to company safety standards - Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
· OSHA 10 / OSHA 30 certification preferred but not required.
· Ability to work independently in a fast paced, time restricted environment.
· Possess high professional ethics, dependability, good judgment and ability to take decisive action.
· Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to: stand; walk; sit; use hands finger dexterity, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift, push, or move items up to 50 pounds. Use visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and use a keyboard. Frequently work near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally work in high, precarious places. Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals. Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and loud noises. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires work in both an office setting and a warehouse setting. Work occasionally requires “after-hours” communication or extended work hours, including weekend or evening work. Working conditions in the warehouse setting may or may not be environmentally controlled resulting in hot or cold temperatures.
