What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Summit Plastic Molding II?
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining machinery, minimizing corrective maintenance and minimizing unscheduled downtime.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Conducts regularly scheduled inspections of facility equipment to prevent major maintenance occurrences
· Walks through the plant to ensure best practices and industry standards are being followed in lubrication, alignment, safety guards, etc. for all machinery
· Works closely with production to assure that production’s operations run at maximum efficiency and quality, with a minimum of downtime.
· Performs preventative maintenance of equipment
· Ability to understand basic hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical principles and theory of operation; read and understand prints pertaining to them
· Uses checklist to ensure all items are inspected during scheduled inspections
· Maintains up-to-date records
· Monitor and maintain daily, weekly, monthly preventative maintenance as required on production equipment, as well as, building maintenance
· Perform and record repairs made to equipment.
· Maintain all production, support, and auxiliary equipment,
· Understand/interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings and specifications.
· PLC (Programmable Logic Controls) troubleshooting, Work with live and low/high voltage electrical systems.
· Makes checks on all machines, robots, and auxiliary equipment in production for safe and efficient operation.
· Work with controls, drives, and servos on mechanical equipment
· Must have initiative to report or fix, if possible, any potential problems that may arise
· Organize and keep inventory of spare equipment and notify Plant Manager when replacements are necessary.
· Keep shop and work areas clean
· Mechanically inclined and Attention to Detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Hydraulic injection molding machine: 2 years (Required)
- industrial machine maintenance: 2 years (Required)
Ability to Relocate:
- El Paso, TX 79928: Relocate before starting work (Required)
