What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mold Maker - Plastic Injection Molding position at Summit Plastic Molding?
Summit Plastic Molding is a plastic injection molding company, we have been in business for over 40 years and are growing in the automotive industry.
We are seeking a full time Mold Maker for 1st Shift (6:00am to 2:30pm)
The toolmaker is responsible for completing new tools & engineering changes along with troubleshooting and correcting any issues that occur with injection molds. The toolmaker must be able to work independently, be self-motivated and contribute as a team member.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Completes engineering changes and modifies injection molds.
Troubleshoots and repairs injection molds.
Prepares molds for storage following production runs.
Provides support functions for production.
Keeps a clean and safe work environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY
2 - 4 years of tool & die making experience in plastic injection molds is preferred. (We are willing to train)
An ability to read part prints
Experience in (milling, precision grinding, polishing, spotting and fitting).
Crane and Hilo Experience
EDM experience is a plus
CNC experience is a plus
Electrical and hydraulic (as it relates to molds) experience is a plus.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Must be detail oriented and have organizational skills.
Must be able to effectively interact with others.
