JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Quality Supervisor FLSA STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Manager, Quality (Manufacturing)
SUMMARY
This is supervisory and technical work, requiring knowledge of statistical process control methods, tools, and procedures required to properly direct and supervise hourly quality assurance inspectors. Overall function of the position is to coordinate inspection procedures to assure continuity and consistency from shift to shift. Good organizational skills and the ability to use a PC are necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Manages and directs Quality Control activities of QC inspectors on all shifts.
Screens, tests, and recommends selection of new inspectors from internal and external sources.
Assures compliance with all applicable departmental and corporate quality assurance policies and procedures.
Investigates and implements disciplinary actions in accordance with corporate personnel policies and procedures.
Trains and tests inspectors in QC procedures.
Monitors, trains, evaluates, and corrects employee performance as necessary.
Calibrates and maintains inventory of all measuring tools used by QC inspectors.
Maintains and updates departmental records on employee performance including the initiation of new records and reporting procedures.
Tracks Internal Problem Reports.
Performs as a Lead Auditor.
Communicates with the customer and supplier base.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Two or more years as a production operator, material utility, or inspector.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional Score of 20 on the Cognitive portion).
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position typically does not require any travel.
