What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator Programmer position at Summit Racing Equipment?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage inventories of cutting tools and machining supplies. Order items as needed.
- Coordinate the production machining to complete DXE work orders.
- Balance work activities within equipment capacities and available manpower. Identify resource constraints.
- Develop machine set-ups for products as needed to ensure efficient machining and the quality of the parts machined.
- Provide training to machine operators.
- Ensure that safety procedures are followed in all areas of the machining area.
- Ensure that all machines are properly maintained and that the preventive maintenance procedures are followed.
- Provide technical and administrative support to all DXE departments.
- Perform analysis of DXE activities, as required.
- Ensure product is of high quality to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Run production when operators are off and or at lunch.
Education and/or Experience:
High school graduate plus "G" code machine control language training or equivalent experience required. Prefer prior exposure to Surf Cam and/or Solids Works software packages. Minimum experience of 5 years machining experience in a production environment. Must have:
- Hands-on operation experience with mills, lathes, drills, and vertical or horizontal machining centers.
- 4 or 5-axis VMC and or HMC experience.
- Fanuc Pro 3 or Pro 5 controller experience.
- Experience with measuring and gauging equipment.
