What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Cashier position at Summit Racing Equipment?

We are currently looking for full-time Cashier to join our retail team. If you are a friendly, outgoing person who enjoys interacting with people, has a strong attention to detail and prior Cashier experience – then we want to meet you!
The successful applicant will…
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Two to three years recent experience as a cashier or teller.
- Have some previous Retail experience.
- Have an intermediate level of computer experience.
- Be comfortable working with cash and credit cards.
- Have ability to read and understand English; have basic arithmetic comprehension; have basic skills in Microsoft Office software.
- Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and achieve required performance standards.
- Have ability to work evenings (until 8:30pm) and weekends: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Our store is open 7 days/week and the work shift will vary. To be considered for a position, you must be able to work at least 1 weekend day (Saturday and/or Sunday), typically 2 days are preferred.
Responsibilities Include:
- Accurate processing of transactions ensuring accurate customer payment of same.
- Stocking shelves and counters with merchandise.
- Setting up advertising displays or arranging merchandise on counters to promote sales.
- Answering customer questions and offering assistance or direction; helping to keep the store neat and organized by cleaning shelves, counters, and displays.
- Cashiers are required to stand during the entire shift; frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting is required; some lifting up to 30lbs; occasionally climbing stairs.
