SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: The Project Thrive Manager will be responsible for the design, creation, and launch of a county-wide effort that will coordinate, enhance, and further develop accessibility to high quality programming to benefit elementary-age children during out of school times.  The position will work with existing after school, recreation, and enrichment programs to coordinate and publicize program options, remove barriers to accessing existing services, and design future program opportunities.  This position is grant funded through Vail Resorts and the Summit Foundation through the 25-26 school year.

  1. Will develop a pilot program for the north end of the county, with an ultimate goal of a county-wide approach to afterschool and summer care and enrichment for students in Summit County.  Responsible for creating and managing a program that offers  high-quality equitable, accessible, and affordable academic and enrichment programming, based on research, data and feedback from parents on their needs

  1. Conduct various types of outreach to solict feedback from parents and community providers to determine needs and trends.

  1. Conduct focus groups to obtain community voice and feedback from targeted stakeholders including but not limited to: lower-income working families, principals, employers, and current program providers to help inform needs for care in the county.

  1. Gather information regarding all afterschool care offerings within the county and maintain and update this data; including review of current data and determine if additional data is needed.

  1. Evaluate other program models and determine the best program design for the pilot in order to meet community needs and gaps and reduce barriers to participation.

  1. Design and launch program using a phased approach and evaluate the program for equitable opportunities for all families within the community.

  1. Will collaborate with district staff including Director Equity to support equitable access to program.

  1. Improve the overall coordination and collaboration of current and new program providers to increase the quality and quantity of program slots
  • In conjunction with community partners and schools determine best model to pilot
  • Determine staffing needs and costs

Parent and Community Relations

 
  1. Will explore needed improvements in the current system that would help parents to access quality care in an equitable manner, such as technology, coordination, and other access points. 
    • - Determine options for utilizing technology such as better online registration or partnerships with the One Degree platform.  

- Develop meaningful and ongoing relationships with the principal and other school personnel to determine needs and potential solutions

- Provide a resource for parents to express their needs, experiences and challenges and help identify potential solutions

Project Thrive Program Evaluation

 

  1. Will be knowledgeable and assist community members including families on program offerings throughout the community.

  1. Management of the pilot program and make needed adjustments for future success of the program. The program should become a long term, sustainable service model to offer high quality out of school experiences to all families throughout the Summit County community. 
  • Determine effectiveness of pilot program ongoing and recommend adjustments 
  • Recommend long-term solutions for viability of the program

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred , preferably in related field, teaching credential preferred 
  • Minimum three years’ experience in working with children and their parents
  • Experience in management and administration of community programming preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Strong computer skills 
  • Knowledge of and willingness to work with community partners including the Summit School District, local youth serving agencies, governmental agencies, and parent groups
  • Bi-lingual Spanish skills preferred

Salary : $75,917 - $90,493
