What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chess Instructor - After School Enrichment position at Summit School of Chess?
Summit School of Chess is looking for engaging individuals to teach chess to K-8 students in a classroom setting.
Currently, Summit School of Chess is looking for 3-6 instructors who are willing to teach between 1 and 5 one-hour classes per week. This is a part time position with the freedom to build your own clientele.
We are looking for the right individual with specific skill strengths for this position.
Required Qualifications:
1) Consistently show up on time for work. Consistency is the key word. You will be responsible for the supervision and well being of children. These parents will be depending upon you to provide a fun and safe learning environment week after week without compromise.
2) Display a good balance of fun, learning and control over their classroom.
3) Must be able to pass background check.
4) Have reliable transportation.
5) Know the rules of chess.
6) Experience working with children.
7) Available between 2pm to 5pm on weekdays.
Preferred Qualifications:
1) Two year Associates Degree or greater.
2) Experience teaching/supervising/working with children in a classroom or other structured environment.
3) USCF or FIDE chess ratings.
Pay: $30 - $100/hour
Hours: 1-5 one-hour classes per week
