Position: Heavy Equipment Operator
Location: Sioux Falls, SD
Type: Full-time (Direct Hire)
Experience: Two years of experience preferred in earthwork construction
Controls Experience: Proficient with MANUAL and GPS controls
Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities:
- Read, set, and understand elevations and grades
- Perform earthwork, compaction, and pipe laying tasks
- Properly start up and shut down equipment
- Work collaboratively and follow directions
- Safely install materials as required
- Train others when needed
- Maneuver heavy machinery in tight spaces and around utilities without disruption
- Operate compactors/rollers, loaders, skid steers, excavators, dozers, blades, haul trucks safely and efficiently
Heavy Equipment Operator Qualifications:
- MUST have 3 years of water & sewer experience to be considered
- Proficiency in operating dozers for both rough and fine grading
- Proficient with both MANUAL and GPS controls
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively
- Willingness to work collaboratively and take direction
- Certification in heavy equipment operation is a plus
Heavy Equipment Operator Compensation/Benefits:
- Direct Hire position with robust compensation package
- $25-$30 per hour based on experience (BOE)
