Heavy Equipment Operator

Summit Skilled Solutions is currently hiring Heavy Equipment Operators for projects around the Sioux Falls, South Dakota area. Ideal candidates will be experienced with both rough and fine grade and be experienced with MANUAL and GPS controls.

Heavy Equipment Operators Duties

• Read, set and understand elevations and grades
• Understand the basic knowledge of earthwork and compaction and pipe laying
• Perform proper start up and shut down procedures
• Work with others and take direction
• Safely install any and all materials needed for the project
• Able to train others when needed
• Maneuver heavy machinery in tight spaces and around existing utilities without disruption
• Knowledge of operating compactors/roller, loaders, skid steers, excavator, dozer, blade, haul truck safely and efficiently

Heavy Equipment Operator Qualifications

• Must have a general knowledge of earthwork construction, two years of experience would be preferred.
• Certification a plus but not required
• Dozer operator MUST be able to grade BOTH rough and fine soil
• MUST be PROFICIENT with manual controls

Heavy Equipment Operator Compensation/Benefits

• $25-$30/hr BOE
• Weekly direct deposit

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
