What are the responsibilities and job description for the Iron Worker position at Summit Skilled Solutions?
We are seeking experienced Ironworkers to join our team. As an Ironworker, you will be responsible for assembling, installing and welding pre -engineered and regular structural steel components in accordance with blueprints and project specifications. This is a physically demanding role that requires a strong work ethic and attention to detail. Initial project will be in Fairport Harbor but may fill in on other projects as needed. Must pass drug test and background check. PPE including hard hat, safety glasses and steel toe boots required. M-F 7am-330p
Ironworker Responsibilities:
- Rig steel, bolt-up steel and weld connections
- Utilize plasma cutting equipment to precisely cut steel components to required specifications.
- Assemble and install structural steel components, including beams, columns, and girders.
- Weld, solder, or bolt steel components together to ensure structural integrity.
- Utilize various tools and equipment, such as cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment, to erect steel structures safely.
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and project documentation to determine layout and dimensions of structures.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to identify and address any defects or issues.
Ironworker Experience:
- 4 years experience as an Ironworker/Welder or in a similar role is required.
- Proficiency in stick welding (7018) in 4 positions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
