As a Journeyman Tile Setter, you will be responsible for laying tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces, ensuring precise alignment and adherence to design specifications.
Journeyman Tile Setter Responsibilities
- Measure and cut tiles to fit designated areas, ensuring accuracy in dimensions.
- Prepare surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary adhesives.
- Lay tiles in accordance with design plans, patterns, and specifications.
- Grout and seal tiles after installation to ensure durability and water resistance.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals on-site to ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, including hand tools and heavy equipment.
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment at all times..
Journeyman Tile Setter Qualifications
- Have at least 5 years experience as a tile setter
- Must be proficient with subway tile
- Must be able to work 7/12s
- Must be knowledgeable with schluter strips
- Familiarity with construction estimating techniques and ability to read blueprints.
- Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of safety regulations.
- Strong skills in using hand tools and operating heavy equipment as needed.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality results.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
