Job Summary
The special procedures technician will be responsible for radiation functions for special procedures and other interventional examinations. "IPS is a subsidiary of SSJC"
Duties Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Special Procedures Tech is to aid with the patient care in the Interventional Pain Management department through the provision of technical assistance to the procedure team and Provider.
- Perform diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures in a clinical setting.
- Operates conventional, fluoroscopic or radiology equipment to obtain images of designated body parts according to physician specifications and/or orders.
- Assists the physician with the performance of various diagnostic and interventional procedures, by monitoring, passing instruments and catheters, observing patient response to procedure, maintaining sterile field, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic data to be utilized by the physician.
- Assure compliance with federal, state, and local technical and professional regulations and accepted practiced guidelines.
- Delivers quality, cost effective patient care in a professional manner.
- Works effectively to maintain an environment of excellence, which is patient focused, providing timely, compassionate, quality patient care.
- Prepare and update patient records accurately.
Qualifications
1 Registered or Certified Medical Assistant required at a minimum or a Registered Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is preferred.
2. Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(is) as appropriate
3. Experience in special procedures preferred
4. Ability to effectively operate all equipment
5.Ability to follow established departmental procedures
6. Ability to multi-task
7. Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations
8. Possess excellent customer service skills Lifting Requirements Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions.
9. CPR Certified.
