What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipper/Crate Builder position at Summit Staffing Solutions?
We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our warehouse team as a Shipper/Crate Builder. This position will begin as a temporary role with the potential for permanent placement after 5-6 months with Summit. However, we are committed to finding the right person who can perform well and contribute to the team long-term.
Responsibilities:
- Stand for extended periods and maintain a strong work ethic throughout the day.
- Lift and move heavy items (assistance is available for lifting heavier items).
- Operate band saws, table saws, and other machinery safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret measurements using a tape measure.
- Build wooden pallets, crates, and fabricated cases based on job specifications.
- Work with die-cutting machines and assist with assembly tasks.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in warehouse, shipping, or crate building is preferred.
- Strong mechanical skills and experience with saws and measuring tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor.
