As we continue to grow, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Structural Steel Detailer to join our dynamic team.
As a Structural Steel Detailer, you will play a critical role in the preparation of detailed fabrication drawings and plans for structural steel projects. You will work closely with engineers, fabricators, and project managers to ensure that all steel components are accurately represented and comply with project specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
Standard hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00am – 4:30pm and Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm. Some projects and deadlines may require periodic overtime.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Structural Steel Detailer (3 years preferred) with hands-on experience in creating fabrication and erection drawings.
- Proficiency in CAD detailing software's
- Strong understanding of structural steel design, fabrication processes, and construction terminology.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards and building codes, including AISC and AWS standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field is a plus, but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed structural steel shop drawings, erection drawings, and connection details using CAD software's.
- Interpret structural blueprints, sketches, and engineering designs to produce accurate and detailed steel fabrication drawings.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabricators to resolve design and detailing issues during the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that all drawings comply with relevant building codes, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols.
- Maintain project documentation and track design revisions to ensure up-to-date drawings are available at all stages of the project.
- Collaborate with the design team to modify and adjust plans based on client or engineering feedback.
- Provide technical support and assistance to fabrication and field teams as needed.
