Summit Strategies is a leading government affairs practice with locations in Washington, D.C., and Portland, Oregon. Summit Strategies was founded in 2015 by five partners with over 150 years of combined government and government affairs experience. The D.C. firm specializes in federal matters involving transportation, infrastructure, natural resources, energy, tax, trade, labor, and tribal affairs. Summit Strategies represents businesses, trade associations, and a wide range of public entities.


Summit Strategies is seeking internship candidates who are self-motivated and able to tackle a variety of different tasks. Interns will be tasked with a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:


·      Attending Congressional hearings and drafting accompanying summaries

·      Preparing written materials, including digital communications and issue-specific analysis

·      Performing legislative and policy research

·      Monitoring client specific current events, legislation, and regulations

·      Marketing and communications development

·      Various other tasks as assigned by professional staff, including staffing fundraisers and events


Qualifications


Candidates should have strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidates must be organized and able to multi-task. Interest or previous experience in transportation or infrastructure policy, marketing, and/or communications is preferred. The ability to maintain the confidentiality of office work, policies, and procedures is mandatory.

The 2025 internship is five days a week in-person in the Washington, DC office.
