Position Summary :
The Director of Nursing plays a pivotal role in overseeing and advancing the quality of patient care, regulatory compliance, and employee health within Summit Surgical. This hands on position involves leading nursing staff, collaborating with various departments, and establishing programs to ensure the delivery of high-quality nursing services and optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities :
1. Nursing Staff Oversight :
Supervise and lead Nursing Staff to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards.
Lead the planning and coordination of staffing to meet departmental needs while maintaining efficiency and budget adherence.
Facilitate and lead department meetings to promote communication, address concerns, and align team goals with organizational objectives.
Foster employee development through ongoing training, mentorship, performance evaluations, and career growth opportunities to build a skilled, engaged, and motivated nursing team.
2. Quality Assurance Programs :
Develop and implement quality assurance programs within the nursing department, establishing metrics, protocols, and benchmarks to monitor and improve nursing services' quality.
Lead initiatives to identify areas for improvement in patient care processes and outcomes, implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
3. Compliance Oversight and Policy Development :
Ensure regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness, conducting regular audits to assess compliance levels and implement corrective measures.
Collaborate on policy development to align nursing practices with regulatory standards and best practices in patient care.
4. Staff Training, Interdepartmental Coordination, and Reporting :
Conduct regular training sessions for nursing staff on compliance and risk management strategies, fostering a culture of awareness and accountability.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure a holistic approach to compliance, risk management, and high-quality patient care.
Utilize data analytics to track key performance indicators, generating reports and presenting findings to hospital leadership for improvement opportunities.
5. Employee Health and Partnerships :
Develop protocols for tracking infectious diseases among hospital staff, implementing screenings, testing, and follow-ups for early detection and management.
Organize and oversee annual health assessments for hospital employees, maintaining accurate health records and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
Foster collaboration with medical professionals to develop strategies for disease management, prevention, and effective communication between staff and healthcare providers.
Qualifications :
BSN required and Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred.
Current RN (Registered Nurse) licensure.
Proven experience in nursing leadership roles in healthcare administration and nursing.
Strong financial acumen and strategic planning skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and best practices.
