Title: Attorney
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Supervisor: Managing Attorney
JOB SUMMARY
Our Staff Attorneys perform duties related to all facets of title processing and document preparation. S/He is required to exercise independent professional judgment and to possess the knowledge and experience necessary to efficiently handle any situation that may arise during the title and escrow process. This position works closely with all other members of the team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Reviews title commitment, as needed, to assure all requirements have or will be met with closing
- Prepares any documents necessary to facilitate closing, as needed/requested
- Prepares Title Opinions, escrow agreements, and loan documents requested by lenders
- Provides further document assistance to Managing Attorney, as assigned
- Communication with parties as needed
- Title curative
- Works in conjunction with Managing Attorney, Operations Manager, and Escrow Manager to support, train and educate staff on title related topics, curative, requirements, etc.
- Keeps detailed record of activities within processing software
- Follows company standards and practices when processing transactions, as well as applicable state laws and guidelines
- Returns all calls, voicemails, and emails in a timely manner
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Adheres to company policies and guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of Two (2) years of experience is preferred.
EDUCATION
o Juris Doctorate required
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, INSURANCE
o Title Insurance license preferred
o License to Practice Law in Tennessee required
o License to Practice Law in Mississippi highly preferred

Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the title industry field.
