The Chassis Prep Technician will be responsible for installing chassis components and body mounts as directed on work orders and blueprints.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying work order, bill of materials and blueprints, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
- Installs PTO, pumps and chassis electrical components.
- Installs body mounts according to blueprints.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area, maintains and wears all required personal protective safety equipment.
- Participates in all continuous improvement programs by offering suggestions and exhibiting initiative in areas within direct control.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Requires working occasionally in areas which are not ventilated or air-conditioned. Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery such as a truck or a forklift.
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
- Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping and stretching. Requires occasional lifting up to 75 pounds. Requires exposure to machines, chemicals and solvents. Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery. Normal range of hearing and vision.
- Ability to do simple math calculations.
- Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations. Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people.
- Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License with an MVR in good standing
- Must have basic knowledge and understanding of vehicle electronic systems, PTO and hydraulic pump installation and chassis up fitting systems
- Ability to efficiently use various hand and power tools
- Keen attention to detail is required
- Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
