Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management and Insurance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Experience: Generally, a minimum of 3 years of experience in Premium Audit, Underwriting, Accounting, or Finance. Insurance accounting experience preferred. Continuing progress toward and/or the completion of a professional designation preferred, such as Associates in Premium Audit Program (APA), Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), or Associate of Risk Management (ARM).
Scope of Job/Qualifications: Demonstrates technical knowledge across various accounting principles and practices. Works on assignments of moderate technical and logistical complexity. Demonstrates foundational analytical and problem-solving skills. Maintains knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure that all audits are conducted in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and state laws. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and across departments.

Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
- Conducts thorough audits of insureds financial records to verify the accuracy of reported premiums, ensuring that all calculations are precise and compliant with company policies and industry regulations.
- Reviews and analyzes financial statements, payroll records, and other relevant documents.
- Identifies and resolves discrepancies in policyholder records by collaborating with producers, underwriters, insureds, leadership, and other internal departments, ensuring that all issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- May review certificates of insurance and determine which class codes apply to specific exposures.
- May review claim activity on policies to ensure that employee coding is consistent and accurate.
- Prepares and delivers detailed audit reports to management, providing clear and accurate findings that support informed decision-making.
- Collaborates with underwriters and other internal departments to ensure accurate premium calculations.
- Provides excellent customer service to policyholders by addressing any audit-related inquiries and ensuring a positive experience throughout the audit process.
- The person hired for this position will work out of the Lakeland, FL office which offers a hybrid work environment of 3 days in the office and 2 days' work from home.
