Summus Healthcare and Premier Independent Physicians are adding an Assistant Clinic Manager to our growing team.
This role may require travel to the following locations:
Denton
Sanger
Gainesville
Pilot Point
Aubrey
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Coordinate the daily operations of the clinic including but not limited to checking in patients, answering incoming calls, rooming patients, etc.
- Experience with drawing blood and administering injections.
- Ensure phones are open at the start of the business day, transferred to answering service/voicemail at lunch and end of the business day, and special messages for holidays or emergencies are updated as needed.
- Organize and assign duties to ensure clinic workflows are efficient and that providers remain on schedule.
- Maintain a professional and positive working environment by projecting a positive example for clinic employees.
- Ensure that any voicemails, emails, or inquiries are promptly returned.
- Manage medical and office supply inventory and place orders as needed.
- Ensure that office waiting area, reception area, and exam rooms are neat and clean.
- Serve as first-level resolution for any patient care or patient experience escalations.
- Motivate and lead clinic employees to achieve goals.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Contact patients to follow up on past due balances.
- Provides functional support for clinic employees (i.e., receptionist, medical assistant, etc.)
- Record and balance money collected daily.
- Prepare scheduling and patient volume reports for Regional Clinic Manager.
- All other duties as assigned by Regional Clinic Manager.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years in a medical office setting is required.
- A minimum of three (3) years as a team lead or similar role in a medical office setting is required.
- Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong verbal and written professional communication skills, including interpersonal, presentations, email, telephone, and video conference.
- Ability to lead and supervise effectively.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience using Electronic Medical Record systems. (EMRs).
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to solve problems.
- Understanding of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid health insurance benefits including premiums, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, etc.
- Knowledge of HIPAA.
- Strong knowledge of medical clinic workflow.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement concepts and practices.
What are the details?
- This is a full-time position.
- Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Compensation starts at $24.00 per hour and is dependent on experience.
