TITLE: Child Nutrition Program (CNP) Worker
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school equivalency diploma
- Effective interpersonal communication
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful performance of the responsibilities listed
REPORTS TO: CNP Manager
SUPERVISES: N/A
JOB GOAL: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform assigned duties related to the preparation of school meals such as setting up, cooking, cleaning, washing, moping and maintaining inventory.
- Become skilled in the use of all equipment normally used in work assignments.
- Adhere to work schedules and work assignments.
- Attend work on a regular basis and on time.
- Report work-related injuries as required.
- Practice acceptable health habits and safe work habits in accordance with current guidelines.
- Participate in in-service training opportunities offered by the local school and school system.
- Maintain a positive, friendly attitude in all job relationships.
- Follow written and verbal instructions.
- Assume other duties as requested by the CNP Manger.
- Adhere to board policy and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Capable of being trained in safe food handling techniques.
- Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written instructions.
- Capable of maintaining emotional control.
- Adequate physical mobility including, but not limited to, the ability to perform the below listed functions:
- Work in a standing position for prolonged periods of time
- Lift and/or carry moderate weight daily (15-45 pounds)
- Walk, balance, bend, kneel, and reach
- Exert adequate force to push/pull at least 40 pounds
- Capable of working in an environment which may include, but not limited to, exposure to the following:
- Slippery surfaces
- Prolonged periods with hands in water
- Approved cleaning chemicals
- Common food allergens
- Extreme hot or cold temperatures
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS: Must earn at least 6 hours of annual continuing education or training.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine months per year ; Six or seven hours per day. Salary
and work year to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Noncertified Personnel.
