GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, this job performs moderately complex accounting and administrative work according to Generally Accepted Standard Accounting Principles, established procedures, division/departmental guidelines, internal controls, and regulatory requirements applicable to the work. Employees in this job classification function at a professional level to accomplish assigned tasks according to established schedules, calendars, and projects.Performs related work as directed.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSAppropriately applies advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting, budgeting, record keeping, and fiscal management required for the area of assignment. Assists with coordination of record-keeping and maintenance of fiscal/management information.Performs specialized and technical clerical and record-keeping work. Work is performed with a minimum of supervision. Compiles and analyzes various statistical data and transactional information for daily, monthly, and year-end balancing and reporting; analyzes and reports historical and projected information.Performs detailed research and compiles statistical and financial data for monthly activity and payments. Coordinates submission and formulation of documentation required.Types correspondence, memorandum, reports, records, orders, and other office documents from rough drafts, notes, and oral instructions, in rough draft and finished copy by the use of touch-typing methods. Inputs various data into computer using word-processing based software or a word processor. Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from a computer.Sorts, grades, verifies, files, and/or pulls from files, materials, and documents such as correspondence, reports, purchase orders, case records, statistical records, cards, other records according to number, name, alphabet, invoices, and group code and/or other prescribed procedures.Assists with budget preparation and/or coordinates Tax Collector budget submissions; monitors revenues and expenditures, and notifies manager when corrective action is needed.Gives information in person or by telephone to other units and the public, applying knowledge of rules, regulations, and procedures of the assigned unit.Assists in the preparation of various daily, monthly, and annual reports.Performs duties in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment; consistently interacts with others in a proactive professional manner.In case of an emergency or crisis situation (hurricane, flood, etc.) the position is required to respond/ perform recovery duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.Employees hired on or after February 1, 2016, must be a tobacco-free person, both on and off the job,for at least 1 year immediately preceding applicationand maintain the same tobacco-free status throughout the term of employment.Face tattoos (from ear to ear and hairline of the forehead to the bottom of the chin) are prohibited.Maintains regular physical attendance as assigned at one of the County's offices or work facilities as required.(These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed.
