Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of facilities. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and an ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Inspect, maintain, and repair the physical structure of the facility adn equipement.
Duties
Perform general maintenance, plumbing repairs, replacing and unclogging hair traps, unplugging toilets, repairs washers and dryers, replacing broken pipes/water lines, etc.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of facilities to identify issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Utilize tools such as an ohmmeter to diagnose electrical problems and ensure safe operation of equipment.
- Fabricate parts and components as needed for repairs or improvements.
- Perform residential painting tasks, ensuring a clean and professional finish.
- Collaborate with team members to complete larger maintenance projects, demonstrating leadership skills when necessary.
- Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing tenant concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs performed and materials used.
- Work on oven, dishwashers, freezers, etc. in the Food Service Department.
- Assist in removing furniture and clothing from rooms no longer occupied, or assist in the moving to another room of resident's belongings, eg., furniture, etc.
- Maintain the grounds of the facility to insure they are free of garbage; also include mowing of lawn, trimming hedges, weeding, etc.
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems is advantageous.
- Experience in welding or fabrication is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in English are essential for effective collaboration with team members and customers.
- A demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Pay: $9.00 - $12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
