QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a Master’s degree and valid South Carolina educator certification in Elementary School Counseling.
Location: Alice Drive Elementary
Grade Span: School Counselor will work with Pre-K - 5th grade students.
Reporting: Building Level Principal

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation

Performance Responsibilities
- Works with students individually, in small groups, and in the classroom.
- Guides in the decision making processes concerning academics and personal/social development.
- Helps students evaluate their interests, aptitudes, abilities, and personal characteristics for educational planning.
- Consults with outside resources/agencies to maximize and coordinate the use of available services.
- Consults with parents regarding their children, school related issues, and meetings for special purposes.
- Assists students in developing self-confidence and a positive self-concept.
- Assists students in strengthening interpersonal skills.
- Attends staff, professional and inter-agency meetings.
- Confers with teachers and parents whenever necessary.
- Participates in regular staff meetings and ongoing trainings.
