The Technical Manager role at sun-automation involves supporting our company and partners' corrugated machinery, with a primary focus on Kolbus Machinery. This position is based remotely and requires up to 75% travel throughout the USA and Canada.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with customers and prospects to provide technical assistance for business development and support the outside sales team by offering technical expertise to current and potential customers.
- Evaluate customer requirements, including installation locations, mounting needs, engineering drawings, CAD data, GD&T, and inspection plans.
- Generate sales revenues by delivering technical presentations and demonstrating how our products meet customers' needs.
- Prepare monthly reports for sales management and engineering on new product development recommendations and improvements to existing equipment.
- Attend trade shows and conferences as necessary.
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in sales or technical service/support of capital equipment, preferably in the corrugated industry and plant production environments. Knowledge of Kolbus equipment and mechanical/electrical aptitude are also desirable.
Requirements:
- Motivated and self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including CRMs and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time in North America.
- Technical degree is an asset.
