Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to patients
- Handle and restrain patients during examinations and procedures
- Perform procedures such as blood draws, wound care, bandaging, place IV catheters
- Prepare patients for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor patients during procedures and treatments
- Accurately perform medication and fluid administration calculations
- Provide post-operative care and monitor patients recovering from surgery
- Take X-rays and assist with advanced diagnostic imaging of patients
- Client communication
- Provide post-operative care and monitoring to patients recovering from surgery
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, medications, and progress
- Review post operative care instruction with pet owners
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of canine/feline physiology, veterinary terminology, and laboratory procedures
- Willing and keen to develop new technical skills
- Strong work ethic
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to perform medical math
- Proficiency in canine/feline handling, and restraint techniques
- Experience with X-ray equipment operation
- Ability to perform patient catheterization and administer intravenous fluids
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care and emergency procedures
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our canine/feline patients. You will work closely with veterinarians to assist in a variety of medical procedures, administer treatments, monitor patient progress, and ensure the well-being of our patients.
A variety of shifts are available including split shifts, overnight shifts, daytime and swing shifts. Overnight technician HIGHLY desired. We are also seeking out technicians who excel in anesthesia or are interested in learning to be an anesthetist technician. Surgical scrub assistant desired.
