Manager Maintenance Control overview:

The Manager, Maintenance Control is responsible for the day-to-day operational efficiencies within Maintenance Control. This position is responsible for ensuring that Sun Country Airlines’ and Amazon aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition, regardless of where the aircraft is.

Essential roles and responsibilities of a Manager Maintenance Control:

• Manager, Maintenance Control is responsible to supervise the daily shift activities and assure the operational efficiencies of the Maintenance Control department. They will also ensure that all activities conducted are in strict compliance with the GMM.

• Be aware of the mechanical status of all operating aircraft and the general status and expected availability of all Sun Country Airlines’ aircraft undergoing maintenance. They will also keep SOC apprised of aircraft availability, particularly if an aircraft cannot meet its schedule.

• Provide efficient and effective coordination with other departments within the SOC during irregular operations.

• Audit prepared documents (e.g. maintenance ferry and operational check flights) ensuring compliance with the policies in the GMM.

• Lead and direct all MX supervisors and Controllers.

• Review turn over logs for accuracy and content.

• Ensure proper MEL/CDL usage.

• Monitor ETOPS and LLM policy adherence.

• Responsible for leading the 0800 Mx call and the maintenance portion of the 0900 Ops Call.

• Assist with initial and recurrent training to current and new Maintenance Controllers.

• Evaluate job performance and lead in conducting reviews or evaluations.

• Lead with interviewing and selection of new Maintenance Controllers.

• Mentoring new Maintenance Controllers, and ones that need focused topic refreshers.

• Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines.

Classification: Full-time, Non-exempt
Working Location: This position is open in Minneapolis, MN

Supervisory Responsibility: Supervision of Shift Supervisors, Duty Controllers and Outstation maintenance activities performed by contract maintenance providers.

The qualifications we are looking for in a Manager Maintenance Control include:

• Five years A&P experience on Boeing 737NG or related type experience

• A&P License required

• Previous supervisory experience

• Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving skills

• Ability to multi-task effectively

• Must be computer literate (Microsoft Applications)

• Must be able to analyze and mitigate delays

Preferred Skills

• Previous Maintenance Control experience

• Previous TRAX experience

• 737 FAM course

• Work effectively with minimal supervision under stressful situations
