Window Installation Technician

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Window Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and remodeling, with a focus on framing or finish carpentry. This role involves working both independently and as part of a team to ensure high-quality installations that meets customer expectations. The Window Installer will be responsible for measuring, cutting, fitting and finishing windows and while adhering to safety standards and company policies, Sun Glass is a drug free work environment and does adhere to a strict drug policy including testing and random U.A.

Duties

• Measure and assess window openings to determine the appropriate size and type of windows needed.
• Install new windows according to specifications, ensuring proper sealing and insulation.
• Remove old windows and prepare openings for new installations, including any necessary repairs to framing or surrounding structures.
• Utilize tools and equipment such as saws, drills, and caulking guns for installation tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to complete installations accurately.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople on remodeling projects to ensure seamless integration of window installations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Skills

• Proficiency in construction estimating to assess project requirements accurately.
• Experience as a maintenance person or in related fields such as frame carpentry or remodeling.
• Ability to fabricate custom window frames when necessary.
• Strong skills in blueprint reading and understanding schematics for effective installation planning.
• Knowledge of glass installation techniques, including handling various types of glass safely.
• Competence in caulking to ensure airtight seals around installed windows.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 60 per week
