POSITION SUMMARY:
The Billing Specialist is responsible for the financial processing of transactions as it relates to customer accounts. This position communicates with Customer Service Representatives (CSR’s) frequently and reviews customer accounts daily. Will be responsible for entering invoices, posting customer payments, making deposits, and reconciling receivables for multiple lines of business and billing systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, posting, and recording account receivable data.
- Prepare and email invoices in the billing system to input in financial book of records.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments and invoices are accounted for and properly posted.
- Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending past due statements to CSR’s biweekly or as needed.
- Research customer discrepancies and past due amounts with the assistance of the CSR’s.
- Generate billing statements as needed or requested.
- Prepare refund payments as part of the month end closing.
- Setup, maintain, and update customer files, including name, address, and tax status in multiple billing systems.
- Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
- Six or more years related experience and/or training.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
- Time management skills and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication and training skills while working with diverse groups as part of a team.
- Ability to positively interact with internal and external customers.
