STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Assist with the day-to-day operation of the patient care area while assisting support staff and working with the providers to assure physical and psychological support for the patients. Assists with orientation, training, and management of personnel. Relates effectively and maintains satisfactory relations with other departments and nursing department; participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and skills of personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform all required duties as outlined in the Medical Assistant job description
- Assure efficient patient flow is maintained and there is compliance with internal procedures in conjunction with the performance of duties as indicated in the appropriate job description for each employee
- Assure quality of care by maintaining and monitoring Clinical Staff according to standards of care while adhering to requirements of other governing and regulatory agencies
- Ensure operation of medical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturers instructions; reporting malfunctions, requesting repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques
- Maintain nursing supplies inventory by anticipating needed supplies. Keep supply room stocked with adequate medical supplies, order necessary supplies monthly and perform inventory
- Assure adequate availability of VFC vaccines and oversees ordering to maintain needed stock, communicating need for additional private stock vaccine.
- Ensure compliance with ASIIS reporting
- Refer any clinical issues
- Provide orientation and training of back office Medical Assistant staff
- Assign work tasks, assure coverage for breaks, meals, meetings, and coordinate with Practice Manager regarding coverage for absences and vacation scheduling for all staff
- Adhere to expectations of required/mandatory in-services and certifications
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) preferred
- Eligible for a certification pay differential if certified and/or once certified.
- Team Lead experience preferred.
