Description
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
Promote and restore patients health by performing radiological testing and reporting test results, assuring the quality of operations and complying with all governing regulations. Provide test results to clinic providers in a timely manner. Perform all functions at the level of expertise to which the Radiology Technologist has been trained and certified.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Identify patient service requirements by establishing rapport with patients and others to better understand service requirements, being aware of age specific needs protocols
- Perform radiological examination procedures in accordance with established standards and ensures practices, procedures, and policies meet JCAHO accreditation standards
- Explain the nature of the examination to patients, performs patient assessment, and abstracts relevant information from the patients medical records
- Respond to changes in patients physical status/behavior and seeks assistance from a registered nurse or provider
- Transfer patients to radiographic tables in a caring and professional manner
- Mark images to insure all pertinent information is noted on images and patients file
- Assume responsibility of area in coordination with the Director of Operations
- Compile statistics on analysis performed, number of procedures, and other necessary reports
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
- Registration by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists and current license from the State of Arizona
