STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
This position will be responsible for analysis of patient accounts receivable and serves as the technical expert of net patient revenue for the company. This role will involve collaborating with various departments to maximize reimbursements and payments. Report and dashboard development that communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders will be essential in supporting strategic goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Data Collection and Management: Gather, clean, and maintain data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness for analysis.
- Data Analysis: Analyze clinical and operational data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
- Revenue Cycle Reporting: Create and analyze regular reports on revenue cycle performance, including claims aging, collections, and denial trends.
- Performance Measurement: Assist in the evaluation of clinical and operational performance against established benchmarks and regulatory requirements, such as HRSA and CMS standards.
- BI Development: Design and implement BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data visualizations, using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of BI processes, reports, and data sources for reference and compliance purposes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as clinical teams, finance, and management to resolve billing and payment issues. Provide training to staff as needed to ensure revenue cycle best practices are followed.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff on data collection methodologies, reporting tools, and best practices for data management.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct special projects and analyses as needed to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of accounts receivable processes and healthcare billing practices
- Expert knowledge of MS Excel
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software.
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Knowledge in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, R, or Python) and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills, with the ability to present complex data findings to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, reporting requirements, and quality improvement methodologies is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in revenue cycle management, medical billing, or coding (experience in a healthcare setting is highly preferred).
